Surviving :)

Well, I have completed my first week of language school! I survived! So I am happy about that. My teacher is great and is patient with me, thankfully!  She has taught at this school for over 20 years, so she has plenty of experience with fellow 'gringo's' like me! I also learned that she taught pre-primary. Perfect just up my alley, because I pretty much can talk to a three year old just fine! I guess I can only go up hill from here!

I am having an easier time understanding people speak, my only problem is that I dont know what to say back to them! How convenient! Plus, if I do know what to say back it takes me about 5 minutes to say an entire sentence.  Like I said, at least I have room for improvement.

Sam has made my business card and we just have to find somewhere to print them! How exciting. I had 4 clients last week already, and hopefully plenty more to come!  The wonderful thing about here is word travels fast, so I hope to have lots of people calling me to get a haircut from this 'new american girl'. Last week my mother in law got a phone call from a woman who is looking for someone to rent her home! So we decided to go take a look at it! We love where we are at, and appreciate being able to stay there. But the wonderful about having our own home is that I can set up my salon right there!
The house is even closer to my in laws place.  We have pretty much decided to rent the house with my cousin who is here studying spanish as well.  Now we will have this big 5 bedroom house to try to fill with furniture that we dont have! Since we brought nothing down with us :)
We are very excited about this new place and will keep you all posted on what happens!!

We are invited to some friends house tonight and I volunteered to bring dessert! Thought that would be the easiest thing to bring! Well I was wrong! I made chocolate e'claire cake (i dont even know how to spell that..so who cares) Anyways, went to the grocery store to find they dont sell pudding mix, whip cream, or real graham crackers! How wonderful :) So instead, I instantly became domestic and made pudding from scratch, and whipped cream! The "graham crackers" I found will hopefully be close enough to real ones! :) I guess we will find out. If not I am going to leave a great impression on these people that I dont really know :)! How fun!

Well anyways...enough of this boring update...sorry dont have any new pics to put on yet. New ones will come soon :)
Miss you all. Bet you all wish you were in the sun with me!

  1. Hey Hannah,

I am so happy that you are already in Language School! I can't believe you have been gone for almost a month now. I have been thinking and praying for you and Sam a lot so I am very glad to hear how well you are doing. Even if you can't make a delicious "American" desert. :) I am sure you did just fine winning them over with how sweet you are. I love thin blog thing, it is great because you type how you talk and then I feel like I am having a conversation with you. Anyways, I wish you and Sam a blessed rest of the week! I love you guys!
