Sorry Folks...

Well, it is official. I am the WORST blogger ever.  I can't seem to keep up with posting.  I have time to do it, sorry, I just don't.  I will try to be a bit better!

Things are going well here in Guate! Rainy season is at its best.  It has been raining a lot lately, and I am freezing my buns off.  Since all the homes here are built with cement walls and floors, and left at that.  It can get pretty chilly inside without insulation or HEAT! More chilly-ness to come in the next couple of months!

Sam's job is great! He is still loving it and staying busy.  Besides the long ride home in traffic, there isn't much to complain about. My business is steady, pretty much the same as before.  Hoping to get my shampoo bowl put in soon, but due to the affects of rainy season we have super moldy walls in the room it is supposed to go in.  We are waiting on our landlord to fix it! There is LOTS of waiting here in GUATE!

I am REALLY EXCITED as I am going to be making a trip to the states next week! Sam was so kind as to send me to the states to go to a couple of weddings, and to have Thanksgiving with my family!  I have a good friend getting married and Sam's Guatemalan cousin is actually marring a girl from Minnesota (ya for MIDWEST girls!!)  in November! We figured that since I was already in the states around Thanksgiving I might as well stay for it! I am sooo excited to visit and catch up with my family and friends!

We can't believe in January we will have been here for an entire year! WOW does time fly! We have adjusted wonderfully and are so blessed to have met so many wonderful people!!! We still don't have a time frame of when we will be returning to the states. We will wait and see what God has in store for us!
We have been horrible at taking pictures! But I will dig through some to try and find some to post! Hope to be seeing most of you when I am visiting!!! Hope all is well!

Jennie's Visit!

I had the pleasure of having one of my sisters come and visit us!!!! Her husband surprised her with a 2 week visit to Guatemala without her children! We had a wonderful time!!!! It was so fun to have someone come and visit us and to see what our life is like her in Guatemala! Here are just a few pictures of all the super fun things we did!!!

Life is going really well here! Jobs are steady and we are enjoying them! Rainy season is quite nice! Nothing really to complain about! I love the beautiful weather in the morning and the thunderstorm in the afternoon!
I am helping out coaching the girl HS basketball team at CAG (the missionary school).  We just started this week! It is going to be really fun and I look forward to helping these girls out! :)
We don't have any big changes to share...so I guess I will take that as a blessing :) Things are going well! And we are enjoying life here! Hope all is well back in the states! :) Missing you all!

I am a horrible blogger :)

Sorry folks.....I have not updated in quite some time! :) SORRY!

Life is going great here in Guatemala! Sam is enjoying his job, and my business is continuing to grow! Slowly my salon is coming together and starting to look like a cute place.

Yesterday we celebrated our 3 year anniversary! Crazy, I can't believe it has been 3 years already.  We celebrated by having take out chinese from our favorite place here, and are going to watch Harry Potter tonight with some friends!

It is currently rainy season here.  I love it! It is beautiful in the morning, warm and sunny. And then every afternoon we get a little shower, maybe some thunder, and then it typically clears up again...can't say I am complaining about that! All you people in the midwest would love to trade weather with us as I hear it is brutally hot and humid there! :)

We have really been enjoying our time here in Guate! We have meet some wonderful friends, and are really settling in.  We are attending a church that we really love and reminds us a little bit of our church back home. We have great fellowship there and have met some wonderful people.  We are involved in a small group on wednesday nights as well! All of these things are in spanish so it is good practice for me! At least to just be listening!!

Well I will post some pics for you guys, sorry there arent many! I need to take more pictures!!

Joseph and I made fancy lemonade drinks in our spare time one afternoon! We sipped them outside on our wonderful patio!

At a place called Saul E Mendez.  They have great clothes and a restaurant! With a sweet patio where we brainstormed great ideas for an outdoor patio someday!

5 months already!!!

I can't believe we have been here for 5 months already! Crazy how time flies! My cousin Troy has gone back to the states about 2 weeks ago.  So now it is just Sam and me! So great to be able to spend lots of time together!

Sam has been working at a Marketing company called IMPACT.  It has been a great experience for him so far.  It is a really well known company here in Guatemala City. He works with some really great designers and artists.  I think it will be a great experience for him and great for his resume!  Not to mention the amount of learning that he has gotten from these other experienced designers!
My salon business is coming along well! I had 12 clients last week and 10 this week! Slowly but surely my clientele is building up! :) Lots of american women who are so thankfully to get a good haircut..and speak english during it!  I am slowly decorating the salon as well! Looking cute :)

Rainy season has officially started! Beautiful in the morning...and nice shower in the afternoon.  We have had a couple of nice little storms to go along with it! :) We put a sealant on the top of the Jeep..so it no longer leaks water into your lap when it rains! How nice huh!!! :)

We have rented some of our rooms downstairs to some other people.  One girl has moved in already, and the others are going to move in within the next month! This is a huge blessing for us as it is helping with our rent!

Our 3 year wedding anniversary is coming up in July! I can't believe it has been 3 years already! :) We dont have anything planned yet! But hopefully we will do something exciting! :) A friend was telling us about a cheap trip they took to an Island in Belize! Let me tell you that sounds exciting :) jajaj but who knows! Well enough rambling...ill add some pics now! Hope you all are enjoying life in the states! We miss you all!!! and welcome visitors at any time ! :) :) :) :

Sunday Race

Marines, Marcos, Me, Hannah

This was Marcos' rain bike.

Even in the heat and high humidity Hannah still looks good!
So this last Sunday Hannah and I got invited by our friend Marines to go watch her cousin race motocycles. It was needless to say pretty sweet. Lance and Jason you would have loved it. The guy had this nice 1000cc Ducati bike.
